Common warning signs include a slow or sluggish engine crank when starting, a battery warning light on the dashboard, headlights that dim at idle, and electronics that behave erratically. In Dubai's heat, batteries can also fail suddenly without obvious prior symptoms. If your battery is over 2–3 years old, we recommend a free health test — it takes under 5 minutes and gives you a clear picture of remaining capacity.

Heat is a battery's biggest enemy. Under the bonnet in Dubai summer, temperatures can reach 80°C or higher, which accelerates the chemical reactions inside the battery, causing plates to corrode and electrolyte to evaporate. While a battery in a temperate climate may last 4–5 years, the same battery in Dubai typically lasts 2–3 years. Frequent short trips and heavy air conditioning use also place extra strain on the charging system.

Yes — for most modern European vehicles it is essential. BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche vehicles use a Battery Management System (BMS) that monitors the battery's state of health. When a new battery is fitted, the BMS must be informed via diagnostic software — a process called battery registration or coding. Without it, the alternator continues charging at the wrong rate, which can overcharge and damage your new battery within months. We include this with every fitment at no extra cost.

Standard (flooded) batteries suit older vehicles without stop-start systems. EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) is designed for entry-level stop-start vehicles — it handles more charge cycles than standard. AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) is the premium option required by most modern European vehicles with stop-start, regenerative braking, or high electrical demand. Fitting a standard battery where an AGM is required will result in early failure and potential electrical faults. We always fit the correct type for your vehicle.

For most vehicles, the physical swap takes 15–20 minutes. Including the diagnostic battery registration process, you're typically looking at 30–45 minutes total. Some models — particularly those with batteries located in the boot or under the seat — may take slightly longer. We'll give you an accurate time estimate when you book so you can plan around it.

On modern European vehicles, a battery change can temporarily reset certain settings such as window auto-up/down, sunroof limits, radio presets, and steering angle sensor calibration. We use a battery support unit during the swap to maintain power to the vehicle's modules, which minimises data loss. After fitting, we run a full diagnostic scan to check for any stored fault codes and resolve them before handover.

Every battery we supply and fit carries a up to 2-year warranty. If the battery fails within the warranty period due to a manufacturing defect, we replace it at no charge. Note that warranty does not cover damage caused by an underlying charging system fault — which is why we always test your alternator and charging circuit as part of the service. Modern European vehicles have sensitive ECUs and multiple control modules that can be damaged by voltage spikes from incorrect jump starting. Never allow another vehicle to jump-start your BMW, Mercedes, or Audi using conventional booster cables connected directly to the terminals without proper current limiting.
